One thing that doesn’t get celebrated enough is the player who is able to put his ego aside, and work in unison with the TEAM goal. J. Perry “Perry Boy” (Army) was the starting QB for a team with a good upside of being perennial contenders. Somewhere along the path team captain “Big Dre” decided he wanted to “shake things up” bring a new quarterback on board to help to help accentuate his already solid defense. The average player would have bitched, moaned, quit and turned his back on the brotherhood.
Nah, not Jalen Perry. What Perry chose to do is not play the ‘victim card’ but decided which role can he play to CONTRIBUTE to the overall team goal. The bottom line is not only did Perry end up scoring the game-winning touchdown, he also played a key role on defense as indicated on this pivotal goal line INT that helped solidify his new role on defense.
